analyzingcompetition 300x221 Step Two: Analyzing The Market Place and CompetitionAfter mulling it over, I’ve decided that selling multiple products around the same niche would be the most profitable for me. I’ll be selling e-books from Click Bank based on basketball drills and training.

I did a search for different basketball training key words using the Google Key Word Analysis Tool and the MSN Commercial Intent tool, based on global monthly searches vs. competition and commercial intent, I will be targeting the terms:

  • basketball training (40,000 Global Monthly Searches, Medium Competition and a .75 Commercial Intent)
  • basketball defense (14,800 Global Monthly Searches, Low Competition and a .88 Commercial Intent)
  • basketball shooting drills (6,600 Global Monthly Searches, Medium Competition and a .74 Commercial Intent)
  • better basketball (14,800 Global Monthly Searches, Low Competition and a .54 Commercial Intent) I’m actually just throwing this key word in because I can add “better” in front of all of any of the other targeted key words and be gaining strength for “better basketball” along the way.

As a side note, I also used Google Trends to see how my search terms performed in the coming months, and as I detected when switching my niche, November is the highest month for basketball training related searches.
